Searching for the Flavor in Life

Sometimes it seems I’m a rebel without a (known) cause

My wife told me last night that I have always been a bit of a rebel. I have to concur, although I don’t feel much like staging a rebellion on anything these days.

But I can see the rebel in me. I don’t want to be told what to do or how to do it, (unless I ask for it).

I am far less trusting of the secular than the spiritual.

I want to be reasonable, yet the things I believe, (secular and spiritual), become the foundation for who I perceive myself to be. If someone tries to put a crack in my foundation, they just may become blacklisted.

Hey, come on, I’m not a bad person. Actually, I dare say that my character is similar to that of most people’s.

There are so many pressures that challenge our belief systems. When we are resilient and persevere, we are rewarded. We feel good about ourselves, and rightfully so. Yet, when we do not fare so well, we find ourselves in conflict. It’s all very tiring, isn’t it?

Is it supposed to be like this?
